The award and the anniversaries of 200 years of Johanna Spyri (2027) and 150 years of the “Heidi” book (2030) are intended to honor Heidi and Johanna Spyri.

With Heidi, the author Johanna Spyri has brought Switzerland and life in the mountains closer to readers from all over the world. Heidi is a classic of children's literature, translated into over 56 languages and also made into feature films and animated films with images and sound. In 2023, the Johanna Spyri Archive and the Heidi Archive in Zurich were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list (category "World Documentary Heritage or Memory of the World").
Anniversaries 2027 and 2030
The Heidi Foundation, Zurich Tourism and Graubünden Holidays as well as other partners - Heididorf - Swiss Youth Hostels - Johanna Spyri Museum - Heidiland - Rhaetian Railway - Graubünden University of Applied Sciences - including the public sector and institutions from science and culture - are committed to implementing the anniversaries.
The aim is to offer and culturally enhance "Heidi" / "Johanna Spyri" as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage for guests, the local population and other interest groups. The aim is to create a connection between the documented, intangible cultural heritage and history that can be experienced. To this end, suitable experiences and locations in Graubünden / Bad Ragaz and in the Zurich region are to be made accessible.
